FC ABLAZE

FC Ablaze are a football academy situated in Ikorodu which is a large city based on the north-east of Lagos City, Nigeria.

They opened the academy back in 2013 with the idea of using football to help homeless kids get off the street by giving them a dream to believe in. They called this project “ABLAZE - SLUM TO THE WORLD PROJECT”

When the academy first started they were using water bottles for cones and only had one ball for over 30 kids to play with. Since then the academy has grown and with it the kids dreams and their achievments, more than 15 of the students have now come through the project and gone onto gain scholarships in different schools where they have trained as professionals in different skills like vocational training while still playing football.

With the help of investment the academy has now managed to secure an apartment for the boys and girls of the academy to live in and receive additional support.

The aid from the Balls project will go on to impact more lives with the support given by FC Ablaze, educating not only in football but in development at school too.
